Baby Nafisat was born to the Ahmed family in Bayo LGA of Borno state on the 18th of June, 2012.
The family’s joy quickly turned to sorrow as they witnessed many abnormalities surrounding her birth.baby born with many legs in benue stste, nigeria
A surgeon at the Federal Medical Centre in Gombe states Nafisat needs intensive surgery to keep her alive.
Unfortunately, her parents have no means of paying for this expensive surgery.
They’re calling on Nigerians especially the first lady of the state to come to her rescue.
The medical director of the Federal Medical Centre in Gombe said the baby stands the risk of dying if the surgery is not carried out immediately.
Nafisat is currently in the Special Baby Unit at Gombe Federal Medical Centre and she is struggling with
Imperforated anus
Other multiple abnormalities
“The patient has to undergo a series of surgery in order to correct various enormities.” – Dr Adamu Madugu, the Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, Gombe
Baby Nafisat is currently living on different medical gadgets and she needs N1 million for important corrective surgery.
Madugu said with N1 million, Nafisat would be able to p
ay for her surgery, drugs, investigation, pints of blood, feeding and accommodation.
“Unfortunately, the parents cannot afford the money due to financial constraints,” said the Surgeon who solicited that only government can help the poor parents to save the life of the baby.
We are appealing to good Samaritans out there to please help this baby girl in anyway you can.

Monster' washes up on New York beach

The corpse of a mystery animal which washed up on the shore of New York's East River has sparked a wave of conspiracy theories with online debates asking whether it is the carcass of a dog, a pig or an altogether more sinister creature.

The corpse of a mystery animal which washed up on the shore of New York's East River has sparked a wave of conspiracy theories with online debates asking whether it is the carcass of a dog, a pig or an altogether more sinister creature.
Online theorists speculated it may be a dog or, even more worrying, a giant rat Photo: ABC
The apparent 'monster' was found and pictured by an amateur photographer who was walking under the Brooklyn Bridge in Manhattan on Sunday.
The lady who captured the images, Denise Ginley said: "We were horrified by it and we took some camera phone pictures and then finally we decided to come back with my camera and I got up the courage to climb over the fence and get closer to it."
On first glance it appears that the animal is simply a bloated pig – a theory the New York Parks Department insist is correct – but closer inspection reveals that the animal appears to have toes rather than hooves.
Online theorists speculated it may be a dog or, even more worrying, a giant rat. Other online comments suggest it could be an aardvark, a raccoon or something related to a possum.
One online commentator suggested the beast was from a nearby government-run animal disease centre.
"I think these poor things are lab experiments the govt doesn't want us to know about."
The New York's magazine's Daily Intel blog has cranked up the conspiracy with a blog post entitled: "We're Supposed to Believe the New East River Monster Is Just a Pig?"
Mrs Ginley told the Daily Intel blog: "I definitely agree that the feet are not pig-like at all. No hooves or cloven feet to be seen it definitely had five toes on all its paws, front and back.
"I think it could be a monstrously huge rat, but it could also be a monster. A rat that big would pretty much be a monster anyway, wouldn't it?"
The blog compares the animal, which appears to have part of its jaw missing, to something from the X-Files.
But the New York Parks Department is not budging from its initial identification of the animal.
"It was a pig left over from a cookout," a spokesperson told the Animal NY website. "We disposed of it."
Pressed further, the spokesman added: "It was a roasted pig we threw it out. We didn't count its toes, we just threw it out."
But the blogosphere was not convinced. "Hopefully by 'threw it out' they mean transferred to a top-secret lab for more testing, because we are not yet done demanding answers," the Daily Intel poster wrote.

Boy, 11, stows away on flight from Manchester to Rome with no passport

A government inquiry is under way after an 11-year-old schoolboy, Liam Corcoran, flew from one of the country’s busiest airports to Europe on his own without a passport, ticket or boarding pass.

Liam Corcoran may have chosen to stowaway on a plane to Rome after panicking during a swimming lesson, his father said.

Liam Corcoran managed to fly from Manchester to Rome on his own without a passport, ticket or boarding pass
Liam slipped away from his mother at a shopping centre three miles from Manchester Airport, before successfully catching flight LS791 to Rome after a series of blunders by staff.
The schoolboy, from Newall Green, Wythenshawe, Manchester, passed through several security checkpoints before boarding the Jet2.com flight.
The captain was only alerted to his extra passenger when holidaymakers raised concerns shortly into the two hour journey.
Liam's 1,500 mile "adventure" ended on Tuesday night when he returned to Britain unharmed, and escorted by staff, and was reunited with his worried family.
Speaking yesterday, Liam said: “Getting on the plane was easier than doing my homework. I didn’t have anything on me and no one asked me for anything. They smiled at me when I went through.”
He told The Sun: “I went to the toilet and sat there but I couldn’t get out. Then 'whoosh’, we were going up in the sky.”
His mother Mary, 29, said she thought her son had been abducted when he slipped away from her in a shop near the airport.
Police phoned her more than four hours after he disappeared to tell her “we have found your son, he’s in Rome”, she said.
“I can’t get my head around it,” she added. “How did he get that far without anyone asking him one question? I just keep thinking how easy it would be for a terrorist, it’s unbelievable.
“All I read about is how airport security is the highest it has ever been. I’m disgusted and I want answers.”
Last night, three separate investigations were under way to establish how he was able to evade three separate security checkpoints.
At least two airport staff and three airline workers have been suspended over the security breach.
Justine Greening, the Transport Secretary, said: "I take any breach of security, very, very seriously,".
"So we are now investigating with Manchester Airport and, indeed the airline, to find out exactly what happened.
"This is an unusual and serious breach and we are keen to find out what has gone on."
A Department for Transport spokesman added: "We are reviewing urgently with the airport and relevant airline how this occurred and identifying any actions needed to prevent a repetition.”
The incident comes as more than two million people arrive in Britain ahead of the Olympic Games, which open in London on Friday.
Liam’s father, Aaron Fort, 34, who is separated from Liam's mother and lives in Blackpool, said his son had “been a bit petrified by the enormity of it all”.
“If he had got off the plane as easy as he got on. Lord knows what would have happened to him wandering round Rome airport,” he said.
He said his son had been swimming earlier in the day and got into difficulties, which had caused him to panic.
He said: "The lifeguard had to throw Liam a rope to get him out. That sort of incident would have worried him. He must have got changed and given his mother the slip and then walked from the baths in Wythenshawe to the airport.
"He has never had a passport and never been abroad. When we all lived in Blackpool we would go down to the front and ride on a tram – that's about it."
Neighbours said that Liam was “quite tall for his age”.
One said: “He's a nice lad and never causes any trouble in the street although it looks like he's a bit of a handful.”
Liam was reported missing to Greater Manchester Police at lunchtime on Tuesday.
He is thought to have run away from his mother while she was shopping at Wythenshawe Civic Centre, about a mile from their home on Europe’s largest council estate.
It is unclear whether he walked to the airport or caught a bus but when he arrived he passed through security in Terminal 1 without any problems.
It is understood that Liam had followed a family when he got to the packed terminal and that security staff scanned him but failed to realise he was on his own despite having no boarding card.
He then went to one of the gates where passengers were boarding their flight and managed to get past another security check without showing a passport or a ticket.
An airport spokesman said: "He was with a large group of other children, he appeared to be in a family group – for whatever reason he wasn't checked."
It was believed that after he boarded and took a seat, crew failed to carry out an accurate headcount to make sure that the number of passengers and boarding cards matched up.
About 30 minutes into the flight, passengers became suspicious and alerted cabin crew .
The captain was then informed and radioed back to Manchester, where police told his mother that he was safe and well but on a plane heading to Italy.
The boy remained on board after landing at Rome Fiumicino Airport, and returned to Manchester on the same plane, escorted by staff, where he was met by his mother.
A Manchester Airport spokesman described it as an "extremely serious matter".
"It is clear that documentation has not been checked correctly at security and the boarding gate," he said.
"The boy went through full security screening so the safety of passengers and the aircraft was never compromised. It was our responsibility – we absolutely have to answer for that.
"This was a young lad on an adventure."
An airline spokesman said that because the aircraft was connected to an airbridge a head count was not required.
She added: "However head counts have immediately been put in place across each of our flights from all airports, including those where air bridges are in use.
"We are reviewing all of our procedures in light of this incident and three members of staff involved have been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
"Passengers can rest assured that this is an isolated incident and at no time was there any safety risk."

“ Hunger and malnutrition are the worst enemies of humankind. They deny to children – even at birth – an opportunity for the full expression of their innate genetic potential for physical and mental development. Freedom from hunger is the first requisite for sustainable human security. This will depend upon the productivity, profitability and sustainability of agriculture, as this edition of the World Disasters Report points out. Therefore, if food and nutrition policies go wrong, nothing else will have a chance to go right."– M. S. Swaminathan, Member of Parliament, India; Chairman, M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation

This year’s World Disasters Report focuses on the growing crisis of hunger and malnutrition. Smallholder farmers who produce half the world’s food are among the almost 1 billion people who go to bed hungry every night. Millions of children suffer the irreversible effects of undernutrition. Increasing food insecurity weakens people’s resilience to disasters and disease, and people everywhere are experiencing the increasing volatility of food prices.

'Occupy' anti-capitalism protests spread around the world

Thousands march in Rome, Sydney and Madrid as Occupy Wall Street protests go global

  • Occupy London protest: on the steps of St Paul's cathedral. Source: guardian.co.uk Link to this video Protests inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York and the "Indignants" in Spain have spread to cities around the world.
Tens of thousands went on the march in New York, London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Rome, Sydney and Hong Kong as organisers aimed to "initiate global change" against capitalism and austerity measures.
There were extraordinary scenes in New York where at least 10,000 protesters took their message from the outpost of Zuccotti Park into the heart of the city, thronging into Times Square.
Only 36 hours earlier, police were preparing to evict the protest from Zuccotti Park. On Saturday they escorted thousands of marchers all day as they made their way uptown through Manhattan, and looked on as they held a rally at a New York landmark.

Photograph: Eduardo Munoz/Reuters Dave Bonan, who was at Occupy Wall Street on the first day of the protest a month ago, said it was "a little surreal" that the protest had spread. "I didn't expect it to last more than 15 minutes," he said. "The fact it lasted more than a day inspired people all over the world to capitalise – no pun intended – on our success."
In Madrid, tens of thousands of people take a part in a demonstration in Puerta del Sol square in Madrid, home of the "Indignants" movement, which has been building through the summer as Spain's economy faltered.

Photograph: Arturo Rodriguez/AP In London, dusk fell on more than 2,000 protesters assembled in front of St Paul's Cathedral in London, earlier addressed by the WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
There was civil unrest in Rome, where police turned teargas and water cannon on the crowds. Smoke hung over Rome as a small group broke away from the main demonstration and smashed windows, set cars on fire and assaulted television news crews. Others burned Italian and EU flags. "People of Europe: Rise Up!" read one banner in Rome. Fights broke out and bottles were thrown between demonstrators as some tried to stop the violence.
In Germany, about 4,000 people marched through the streets of Berlin, with banners calling for an end to capitalism. Some scuffled with police as they tried to get near parliamentary buildings. In Frankfurt, continental Europe's financial capital, some 5,000 people protested in front of the European Central Bank.
